"Collaboration is vital!

It was great to be a part of the first (hopefully annual) Equine Welfare Conference at Horse Haven of Tennessee.

While our primary focus is our Mentorship Programs for youth, we are honored to serve our community in an equine rescue capacity on a small scale: focusing Southern Middle Tennessee, or when law enforcement or reputable rescues request support with critical cases. Hands on experience with rehabilitating rescue horses provides such a powerful element to our mentorship programs and works hand-in-hand to accomplish our mission. "Today officially marks 6 weeks since Dove and Sparrow arrived at Freedom Reigns Ranch. They both still have a ways to go but check out their progress!

Dove is still under the expert care of Equine Performax Therapy and Conditioning getting daily therapies for her hooves thanks to their incredible generosity. They have made it possible for this forgotten, neglected little mare to receive the best possible chance… and she continues to fight! She has amassed quite the fan club with the staff and she seems to know she is to be treated like royalty. The only part she does not like is the fact that we’re slowing her weight gain to keep her lighter on her feet as they heal.

Sparrow is also doing fantastic and will be starting some light ground work next week to work on putting in some muscle with all the weight he is gaining. We’re really looking forward to seeing what he offers us in working with him more as his personality seems to crave wanting to engage his brain in activity.

Both should be strong enough and have put on enough weight for their teeth to be done later this month, which should have them feeling even better!

We can’t thank everyone enough for continuing to cheer them on, pray for their recovery, and give toward their expenses. Thank you for saying “yes” to fighting with them! Their lives are worth all the effort!"

"We love when Megan Repass comes to take our volunteers through Trauma Training. This vital time helps our volunteers understand how to best support participants while staying aligned with the Ranch’s mission of equine-assisted mentorship and ministry.

Megan is a genuine horsewoman, a trauma therapist with over 20 years of experience and is an excellent, relatable, and engaging teacher. We are so grateful for the time she gets to spend at Freedom Reigns Ranch!"
