"Dove allowing Carissa to get her used to the rasp and rounding off her toes while relaxing in her stall. She hasn’t been able to have a full farrier visit yet because of her abscessed feet but this is working until she’s able to stand for longer periods with one of her front feet up. She is going in to Dr. Mark (our vet) again tomorrow to get some updated X-rays and some much deserved therapy from @equineperformaxrehab … more to come!
Sparrow had a medicated bath and then proceeded to roll immediately after, of course. He looks quite pleased with himself, if you can’t tell. 🤣 His rainrot is almost gone and he is doing fantastic!

"Cyrus reminding everyone to drink lots of water this week! 💦
With forecasted heat indexes predicted to reach 110, hydration is key! We will be adding electrolytes to all of the horse’s feed and providing spray down opportunities for them multiple times per day."

"Everything we do at the Ranch is to facilitate our most important mission: providing mentorship for kids and young adults who have been through trauma.
Because programming is free-of-charge, everyone is able to come regardless of means. And that’s important because so many of our participants could never consider equine-assisted services due to costs.
It’s every day folks, just like you, that make this possible by giving. Thank you!"

On July 7, 2025 we received two emaciated and critical horses into our care. Neglected for a significant amount of time, covered in rainrot, in pain (from what later turned out to be a nail in a hoof and severe laminitis due to long term neglected hoof care), a bleeding tumor, ruptured eye, and missing hundreds of pounds each, they began their meticulous rehabilitation process with the gentle care of our Volunteers who stayed with them around the clock.
Note: Part 1 is set to Phillip Phillip's song "Home" but it wouldn't download/allow to be played on a site outside of Facebook/Instagram. You can view the video with music at the link below.

The level of neglect these two precious horses experienced is intense, and despite all of our best efforts, Dove’s feet needed professional support. We had to call on the help of our incredible team of equine professionals at @thejaecklecentre @equineperformaxrehab if Dove were to be able to have a chance (her hoof neglect was truly that severe). We are so incredibly grateful for Teresa and Evie Jaeckle, Dr. Mark Wooten, Naomi Minardi, and the entire staff at The Jaeckle Centre for giving this precious forgotten horse the best possible chance at soundness and a pain-free life! Next week, we’re going to share in more detail the therapies that she is receiving on a daily basis, how they’re helping her feet heal, and why it’s so important to have a knowledgeable, professional team to intervene when best efforts at home aren’t enough.Sparrow continues to thrive, having already gained over 100lbs and being well on his way to recovery and to prep for his tumor removal surgery.Thank you to everyone who continues to help to provide for these precious rescues, for all who continue to pray for their recovery, and for our amazing community of people who care for them with so much love!
