"Some calls for help are impossible to ignore.
We recently received a request from the executor of an estate after a gentleman passed away. Sadly, the horses left behind had not been properly cared for, and two of the three had become emaciated.
Our rescue spaces are currently full with three horses awaiting adoption, and as such we knew we couldn’t provide long-term placement ourselves. But our quarantine pen was open and as their condition continued to decline, we also knew they- and the people trying to do the right thing for them- needed help.
This is what can happen when organizations come together.
Because of the incredible generosity of Fleet Of Angels , who covered the horses’ intake veterinary expenses, we were able to say “yes.”
Because of Horse Haven of Tennessee , who will welcome them into their adoption program after their initial rehabilitation here at the Ranch, we were able to say “yes.”
No kill pen schemes profiting. No exploiting suffering. Just real horses and real people in our community helped.
For the next few weeks, these horses will receive careful refeeding, veterinary care, and daily rehabilitation as they regain their strength. Once they’re healthy enough to travel, they’ll head to East Tennessee to continue their journey toward loving adoptive homes.
This is what collaboration looks like. It’s what keeps horses from falling through the cracks. It’s what gives vulnerable animals another chance at life.
And while they’re here, their lives and story will serve as another powerful, tangible example of redemption and hope to the families that are visiting the Ranch.

Once they complete the critical first two weeks of controlled refeeding, these horses will require approximately 75 pounds of forage every day, along with grain, probiotics, and other supplements to support their recovery.
