A Volunteer's Perspective

"I've let a lot stop me in life, but I refuse to anymore. I always take the next step. I always find a way to move forward." As these words poured out of the mouth of the teenage girl I was working with, I couldn't help but be moved and overwhelmed. It was my first day leading sessions and the Lord was clearly moving in our midst. I feel deep gratitude when I think about how the Lord placed me at Freedom Reigns to be used for His glory. It has been a gift to see how these beautiful horses allow for participants step out in faith, gain confidence, and grow in new ways! All the while, the Lord is softening hearts and doing a healing work.

At the ranch, I am completely dependent on Holy Spirit to lead and guide. I practice not only speaking from the presence, but listening from the presence. Only He knows what each heart needs and I am simply a vessel-- empty of myself and obedient to Him, so He is free to move. I am amazed at the faithfulness of God in the big and small details at the ranch. I've seen how trauma brings fear, and many lies come in and cause participants to be carrying heavy weight. God wants your whole heart, so that He can make your heart whole. Whether it's through past situations, present circumstances, or feeling hopeless, NOTHING is too hard for God! It's not hard for Him, but can be hard for us. It has been amazing to partner with the Lord in seeing lies broken, chains falling off, and restoration in lives! The ranch provides an environment for participants to enter into rest, as they learn and grow through horsemanship and mentorship. Each on their own individual healing journey. In every step, there is breakthrough.
