Freedom Reigns Ranch is a 501c3 non-profit ministry in Columbia, TN whose mission is to ignite hope with the help of a horse. We provide mentor sessions free-of-charge to children and young adults who have experienced trauma and other life-challenges. Your entry fee of $70 goes directly to supporting the Programs there!

Enjoy a beautiful ride through the Tennessee Countryside. Spotters throughout the course for safety, complimentary water on the trail and a hot lunch at the start/finish is provided for each rider. Goodie bags for all riders, and contests and prizes throughout, including ribbons for optimum time pacers!

DIVISIONS:

First Flight: Optimum Time based primarily at a canter and walk. Jumping optional.
Hilltoppers: Optimum Time based primary at a walk with some trotting.

Are you TEAM TURKEY or TEAM SANTA? Do you think Christmas music should start in November, or wait till after Thanksgiving? What about that Christmas tree? Show us with your COSTUMES.

Prizes for COSTUMES:

-Best Turkey Themed Group
-Best Christmas Themed Group
-Most Glitter on a single horse/rider
-Most bells on a single horse/rider
-Best Turkey Costume - individual (please no inflatable turkey costumes, they tend to spook horses 
-SPECTATOR CONTEST - Most realistic santa

 

Ribbons:

  • Participation ribbon for all competitors

  • 1st-5th place ribbons for the teams who come closest to their division’s optimum time. Placings will be announced when the last team returns from their ride and ride times are calculated.

 

Lunch provided for all riders and included in entry fee of $70

Additional lunches available by pre-order (submitted on entry form).

Lunches are a hamburger or hotdog, chips, cookie, and water or gatorade. We are unable to provide gluten free, vegan, or vegetarian options.

 

TEAMS CAN BE NO MORE THAN 4 PEOPLE FOR SAFETY.

PLEASE PLAN YOUR TEAMS AND SUBMIT FORMS ACCORDINGLY! Teams can be no less than 2 and no more than 4 riders. For example, if you have a group of 5, you will need to form two separate teams one of 2 riders and one of 3 riders. Entries will close on 11/16/2025 or when the maximum number of teams is reached. In the event that you need to cancel, to be eligible for a refund, an email is required prior to 11/16 to make space for riders on the waiting list.
Submit entries early as this event has sold out almost every year!

There is no Junior Division. Every team must have at least one rider over the age of 18 on their team.

 

Incomplete entries are not accepted (a complete entry = entry form, completed waiver, and coggins).

Current coggins required, no exceptions!

Remind every member of your team to complete their entry form, waiver, and coggins.

*Any style of tack welcome. Helmet required for anyone under age 18 and for everyone who is jumping regardless of age. 

*Shoes or boots are recommended for horses as some of the trail is rocky

*First Ride out at 10am - Grounds open at 9:15am. Please do not arrive earlier!

LOCATION: Riding out of BUTLER'S BEND farm on the beautiful NATCHEZ TRACE PARKWAY! We will EMAIL directions to you along with ride times on November 20th. Please DO NOT use your GPS, please follow directions carefully!

TEAMS CAN BE NO MORE THAN 4 PEOPLE FOR SAFETY. PLEASE PLAN YOUR TEAMS AND SUBMIT FORMS ACCORDINGLY! Ride times will have groups departing every 4 minutes. Groups may *not* wait for/join up with each other during the ride.
Hilltoppers & Trail Riders should plan on riding in earlier times of the day, and last team will be scheduled to depart no later than 2:00.
First Flight riders will be scheduled throughout the day with last team scheduled to depart no later than 3:15.
Please note: we will make every attempt for your ride time and will assign on a first received, first served basis to be as close as possible to your desired start time but cannot guarantee so. Ride times will be assigned and emailed on November 20th.

Please indicate the interval that you would like to start on your entry form. We will send the scheduled ride times prior to the event. Check in at the office at the pace to receive your team number, then arrive mounted in the warm-up field during your chosen interval. No further time assignment will be made. Riders must arrive at the start for their assigned ride time. **If you would like a leisurely ride, please request an early start time.**

ONE FORM PER HORSE/RIDER COMBINATION, please. Signed waiver and coggins must accompany this form or it will not be accepted. Pre-Entry is required, no onsite entry permitted. Each team will be given a gift bag with bottled water, pre-packaged snacks, and other horse goodies in addition to your meal ticket.

CLOSING DATE: November 16, 2025. (You must have your entry form, coggins, and signed waiver in by 11/16/25, along with payment. Late entries will not be accepted.)
