Ruger

Fully sponsored by Lynn Jernigan!

DOB: 2016

Arrived: July 20th, 2024

Breed: Miniature horse

Height: 35 inches

Ruger was originally an intake with East Tennessee Miniature Horse and Donkey Rescue as a malnourished colt. He was adopted by Deputy Teresa Fuller. Teresa trained him and they were a certified therapy team with Pet Partners and had an awesome program going into schools to teach kids to “Say Woah! To Bullying!”. She also used Ruger in multiple cases of crisis response in her work with the Wilson Co. Sheriffs Office as an SRO.

Sadly, Deputy Fuller passed away from cancer on September 30th, 2021. She left a beautiful legacy with her program that helped so many kids in Greater Nashville. Her good friends (and our’s) at Hickory Hill Farm took Ruger in and cared for him. In Summer of 2024, Hickory Hill Farm reached out letting us know that- now 8 year old- Ruger needed a job again and asked us if we would be willing to pair him with our outreach mini, Goliath. Without hesitation, we said yes, and are truly honored to carry on Teresa’s legacy and work with Ruger in the community!
