"Meet Bucko, a cornerstone session horse who doesn’t live up to his name. 😉 He is the most steady, level headed horse who is always engaged with his rider and knows he is supposed to take great care of whoever is on his back. We are so thankful that Shea decided to entrust us with this angel in horsehair. He is truly special!"

"Ice balls in shod hooves? Not here! ❄️
Stayed in place through ice, snow, mud, sleet and everything and we had to remove them today, after 10 days!
Steps:
🔥 - heat water (175-200 degrees)
⏰ - add thermoplastic beads, leave for 3 min till clear
🧲 - thoroughly clean horse’s hoof (really thoroughly)
⚪️ - once beads are clear, add in and work around sole, ensure: ✔️ no holes ✔️ no gaps ✔️ don’t forget the lip around the back of shoe near heel (what keeps it from coming out easily ✔️ surface finishes smooth
‼️- IMPORTANT- ensure it doesn’t extend below shoe surface or you’ll end up with pressure points and a downward spiral of problems with bruises, abscesses, etc. ‼️
⏰ - wait 5 minutes, when done will be totally white (video shows it almost done)
No more ice balls in hooves!! 😍🥳🤯🤗
This saved so much work (and discomfort for the horses) during the ice storm… and they stayed in the entire time! One bag is about $6-7 and does 4 hooves.
A word of caution from our amazing farrier, Billy- this does firm up pretty hard so if you have a horse with thin soles this could cause soreness/bruising. Always consult your farrier for care for your horse’s specific needs."
