"So many families who come to Freedom Reigns Ranch long for the healing, confidence, and hope that God can use equine-assisted services to provide—but the cost is out of reach for most... which is why every single session is provided at Freedom Reigns Ranch is completely free-of-charge!
And we can only do that because of people like YOU.
🐴 $102 → A 90-minute one-on-one session for a young adult healing from trauma.
🐴 $247 → A 3-hour therapist-supported Ranchers Group for teen girls.
🐴 $500 → A 2.5-hour large group session for foster youth, trafficking survivors, or at-risk teens at partner organizations in our community.
Would you sponsor a session and give someone the chance to heal and grow on #givingtuesday?"

"Sometimes when rescue horses come in, the only thing we can humanely do is love them and walk them straight to the care of Jesus by quickly relieving immense suffering.
This sweet, emaciated gelding was suffering from cancer that had eaten away at his neck vertebrae and metastasized to other parts of his body. He was unquestionably in excruciating pain that no medicine could relieve with a condition no medical procedure could fix. Thankfully the circumstances where nothing can be done are rare, but are still heartbreaking.
We’re so thankful the Tennessee Department of Agriculture who intervened upon learning of his condition and called us to help.
And we grateful to the donors that give specifically to the rescue fund at Freedom Reigns Ranch which allows us to serve our community in such an important way.
We named him Judah, gently groomed him, braided his mane, and our Founder stayed with him to tell him he was loved and a good boy as he was humanely euthanized by Dr. Cassie.
He is buried at the Ranch where his life can be honored even though we only got to know him for a very short time.
(Funds given on this post will go directly to support the rehabilitation of rescued horses)"
"(About the xray photo)
This is a vertebra in his neck, where the external lump in the previous photo is. Normal vertebrae would have a smooth, defined and rounded edge.
The concave “hole” is where cancer has eaten away at the bone and the small specs are bits of diseased bone broken off. Think the pain of a broken bone, an infection, and bone spurs combined. Can you imagine?
The ultimate end to this would have been a catastrophic break and likely resulting slow, painful death while paralyzed if the cancer didn’t cause organs to fail first.
He unfortunately had other symptoms of organ failure already setting in: ventral and sheath edema, projectile fecal water, inability to urinate, hypothermic and dehydrated, and a heart murmur due to valve weakness. His suffering was heartbreaking."

"13 local equines in need have been helped by Freedom Reigns Ranch this year.
The need for an ethical, professional, and experienced team local to southern Middle Tennessee to meet the need of supporting local law enforcement with emergency care for horses was highlighted this year in our intake of 13 equines: 12 from Maury County and 1 from Williamson County.
We are honored to be the first call for horses in Maury County in service to the Sheriff’s Office and Department of Agriculture. There is no animal control resource for horses in Maury County and we are grateful to meet the need our community in this unique way.
Equines this year from most recent intake:
2025-013-G - “Judah” - 19-21 year old gray gelding, BCS 1.5, sick, in critical condition. Discovered metastasized cancer and was humanely euthanized.
2025-012-G - “George” -10/11 year old black gelding, BCS 4, puncture wound above left eye. Was found at large. Still in legal hold (90+ days), will be available for adoption once released to a knowledgeable home (no physical limitations, needs further training but is broke to ride).
2025-011-M - “Dove” - 18 year old black mare, BCS 1, critical. Suffering from severe founder, nail in hoof, grade 5/5 lame, extensive rain rot, beginnings of organ failure. Being generously rehabilitated and cared for by the team at @equ . Weight gain and skin rehab complete. Hoof rehab is ongoing. Guarded but hopeful prognosis. As long as she keeps wanting to fight, we will fight with her. Dove will be a permanent Ranch Resident.
2025-010-G - “Sparrow” - 20-22 year old black gelding, BCS 1. Open, bleeding sarcoids on face. Sparrow’s weight rehabilitation was textbook perfect and easy. He is now a BCS 5, in training, and will have sarcoids removal in mid-December and be up for adoption around Christmas time to an intermediate rider/experienced handler. He cannot be pastured with mares due to being gelded late in life and is top of the order in the pasture but handles himself under saddle well and stays tuned into his rider even with other horses around.
2025-009-J and 2025-008-G: Pair of donkeys found at large, BCS 5 and in excellent condition. They were reunited with their owners 5 days later after they had escaped where a tree fell on the fence of a very large pasture at their farm.
2025-007-G - 12-15 year old leopard Appaloosa gelding, BCS 4. Found at large. Reunited with owner the next day.
2025-006-S - 6 year old paint stud pony, BCS 5. Found at large. Reunited with owner the next day.
The first 5 horses were an intake in March after being found tied 24/7 to posts around a barn where one horse had already died.
We don’t have the capacity to hold 5 horses and it is with sincere appreciation to Horse Haven of Tennessee and Volunteer Equine Advocates that we were able to quickly respond, intake these horses and then network these horses to them.
2025-005-M - bay Appaloosa mare, BCS 1.5, pregnant. Foaled a buckskin Appaloosa colt 1 month after rescue. Mare has gained weight, colt is healthy and growing. Both have since been adopted.
2025-004- 14/15 year old grey Arabian, BCS 4. Gained weight to BCS 5 and adopted.
2025-003-M - buckskin Appaloosa mare, BCS 2. Gained weight to BCS 5 and adopted.
2025-002-S - buckskin Appaloosa stallion, BCS 4. Has since been gelded, gained weight, and adopted.
2025-001-M - Coming 2 year old dun Appaloosa filly, BCS 2.5. Has since gained weight to BCS 5 and adopted.
We are not a horse rescue and our first and foremost mission is serving kids, families, and young adults who have been through trauma. However, we are skilled at rehabilitating the really challenging cases and are honored to get to do so for horses specifically in our home community. We love how the rehabilitation process and redemption of rescued horses speaks so powerfully to those that come to Freedom Reigns Ranch. And love having rescued horses that we’ve rehabilitated as our primary session herd!
Fundraising for the rehabilitation of rescued horses is important to continue to serve Maury and Williamson Counties. When you give to Freedom Reigns Ranch, if you’d like to support the rescue arm of our ministry, please designate as the “Warrior Fund”. Funds donated on this specific post will go toward rescue horse rehabilitation."

We are so grateful to each person who decided to link arms with us yesterday- we can’t do this without you!
