"Well, we’ve faced one every horse owner’s worst fears and come out on the other side. Colic Surgery.
Cyrus has kept us all guessing these past few days and again this morning started showing discomfort. The suspicion of displaced colon that still hadn’t corrected required us to make the decision of surgery or likely euthanasia. Since Cyrus’ prognosis was very good, we determined to give him a fighting chance.
Once he was in surgery, we learned we made the right decision as his large intestine and colon had flipped on each other and a hard mass (not a tumor) had formed. Dr. Allison and team worked meticulously to clear the mass and get everything back in place.
True to Cyrus fashion, he had to add a little drama and tried to stand up after anesthesia entirely too early. After some bated breath, skilled response, and pleading prayer he stabilized and was at the Recovery windows whinnying to be released.
He is now stable and back in his stall at the equine hospital and continuing to recover, where he will have several days to heal.
We are so grateful Jesus healed our beloved Cyrus through the miracle of great veterinary medicine. We are so thankful to the team at Tennessee Equine Hospital for expertly attending to him these past few days and throughout surgery today. We are hopeful for a full recovery and ask for you to join us in prayer for the same!
As a nonprofit that is run entirely on donations, we also have to ask for support in covering the expenses that have been incurred to save his life, which will be in the high 4/low 5 figures. If you’re able to give, please consider making a donation to help cover his vet expenses. Thank you so much!

"We don’t get to share so many of the incredible things that happen here on a daily basis because of confidentiality. If you could be a fly on the wall you’d see incredible moments of breakthrough and freedom, tears, victory, joy, and laughter. You’d see horses reaching places in hearts where no human has entered, and God bringing healing in a special way that is as unique as each individual person.
We are so honored by the brave people who walk through our gates, so thankful for our amazing herd of beloved session horses, so genuinely grateful for our amazing team of Volunteers and have deep gratitude for every single person who makes this possible."

Consistent with local veterinary advice (as there are no cases in Tennessee and we do not have anyone entered that was recently traveling to/from affected states), we are going forward with our event. It’s going to be a beautiful sunny day to enjoy the great Tennessee Countryside:
🐴 please do not share water buckets, there is a water hydrant next to checkin for you to fill your own bucket for your horse (don’t forget a 🪣)
🐴 spectators and volunteers are discouraged from interacting with horses (we know it’s hard, but help us practice good biosecurity, please). Additionally, riders, please only interact with horses from your group.
🐴 no nose-to-nose meetings for horses (humans, if you want to Eskimo kiss your friends, do so at your own risk 😉)
🐴 hand sanitizer will be at the port o potty, lunch table, and office for you to use
Just some good old fashioned common sense, awareness, and a whole lot of fun with each other and our horses will make a great day!
We can’t wait to see you in the morning 🤠"
